Welcome Rev. Dr. Marjorie Gerbracht, Priest in Charge

Happy Epiphany and Happy New Year!

The Church of the Transfiguration has wonderful news to share officially at last. The Vestry, Transition Team and the Diocese have been working together for the last several months to find a Priest in Charge now that Ray has retired.

I am delighted to share that we have called the Rev. Dr. Marjorie Gerbract to serve in a half-time capacity. Marjorie has graciously accepted.

She already has ties to Derry in that her two children are Pinkerton Academy students. She is an experienced priest, having been the Rector of Grace Episcopal Church, Manchester from 2011 until now. Before that she was an Associate Rector at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in DC, and started her religious career as Canon for Youth and Children’s Ministries at Christ Church Cathedral in Cincinnati. She says her passions are “Teaching, preaching, outreach, pastoral care, and children’s ministries”.

Marjorie is starting with us on Monday, January 15th and will be ready to meet us all on Sunday, January 21st. This latter date also happens to be our Annual Meeting where we have great food and elect new members to the Vestry and alternates to the Diocesan Convention; so be sure to put it on your calendars!

We could not be more excited! Please join us in bringing a warm welcome to Marjorie. This is the start of an energetic new chapter for Transfiguration!

Sincerely,
Maggie Mackie-Ciancio
Sr. Warden

While I am saddened that Rev. Marjorie’s time with us at Grace is over, I am heartened at this new ‘Call’ for her. God Bless you all!
