Have you wondered why we eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday?

Shrove Tuesday, celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday ,is the final day before the 40-day period of Lent begins. It is considered a day of eating rich, fatty foods, that were traditionally abstained during Lent. Making pancakes provided a way to use up butter, milk, sugar and eggs.

For Episcopal Churchs across America Shrove Tuesday means gathering for a pancake supper. Please join us!
