Joining with Etz Hayim Synagogue, Transfiguration offers Awesome Mountain Camp for one week each July.
- Be with Joshua as he leads the Hebrew People into the Promised Land!
- Thrill to the Voice of God as he gives the Ten Commandments to Moses!
- Rejoice with Queen Esther as she foils the evil plans of the wicked Haman!
- Ascend the Awesome Mountain and meet some of the heroes of the Scriptures.
Awesome Mountain Camp will recreate a first century village right on the grounds of our "Churchagogue" for through 4th GradeChildren for a week of activities.
Lessons and activities will be age-appropriate for the 3 tribes of participants. The Benjamin Tribe will be for .Pre-K, the Joseph Tribe will include 1st and 2nd graders, and the Levi Tribe will be for 3rd and 4th grade children. During the week, they will learn 1st century pottery, weaving, dying, baking, carpentry, scroll and paper making, music and farming.
The Daily Schedule begins with breakfast from 8:30 to 9:00
9:00 to 9:15 - Gather at the well, Sign - Sh'ma, introduce Torah ora and pray.
9:15 o 9:30 - Awesome Mountain trek and story.
9:30 to 10:00 - Lessons and Activities
10:00 to 11:00 - Market place or Farm.
11:00 to 11:30 - Gather at the well for Show and Tell, Sing and Dance - Torah ora, Refreshments, sing Salom chaverim, and the Blessing.

One day during the week the children and thier chaperons make a trek to Overlook Farm to experience a 270 acre hilltop farm with more that a dozen species of farm animals that educates the public about world hunger, poverty and solutions. Overlook Farm acquaints visitors with the world-wide development work for Heifer Project.
Registration forms may be found on the sideboard in the Narthex (that's Church for "Entryway") and at this link. The cost is $40.00 for the first child from a family, $25.00 for each additional child from the same family. Scholarships are available.
